Just Dance Company (JDC) Competition Team
Our competition team is designed for dancers who have a passion for dance and want to take their training to the next level. JDC is more than a team — it’s a commitment to growth, teamwork, and excellence both on and off the stage.
About Just Dance Company
JDC was created for dancers who are ready to go beyond weekly classes and fully commit to their training. Being part of the competition team is a year-long commitment and requires dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude.
We are looking for dancers who have:
Strong technical and performance skills
A desire to grow and improve
A positive attitude and team mindset
Confidence, stage presence, and personality
Above all, we are proud to offer a supportive and encouraging dance family where dancers can thrive.
Team Divisions & Requirements
Junior Team (Ages 9–11)
Dancers on the Junior Team train 2–3 days per week and are required to take:
Ballet
Leaps & Turns
Two additional dance styles
Skill Expectations:
Clean double pirouettes
Splits and strong flexibility
Heel stretch (leg to face)
Split leaps (in the air)
Center leaps
Calypso turns and leaps
Surprise leaps
Strong stage presence and confidence
Senior Team (Ages 12+)
Dancers on the Senior Team train 3–4 days per week and are required to take:
Ballet
Stretch & flexibility
Leaps & Turns
Two additional dance styles
Skill Expectations:
Clean double–triple pirouettes
Advanced flexibility (heel stretch, tilts, leg hold turns)
Split leaps and center leaps
Calypso turns and leaps
Surprise leaps
Turning center leaps to the floor
Turns in second
Strong stage presence and confidence
Competition Commitment
Being part of JDC means participating in competitions throughout the season.
Competitions are mandatory for all team members
Events typically last 1–3 days
Dancers perform routines and attend awards
Each season includes:
3 Regional Competitions
1 Convention
Nationals (every other year)
Most competitions begin on Friday afternoons, which may require school absences.
Financial Information
Participation on the competition team includes several financial commitments throughout the season:
Annual team fee per dancer
Competition entry fees (per routine)
Recital and competition costumes
Optional choreography fees (solo, duet, trio)
Additional details will be provided upon joining the team.
